HID vs LED Vehicle Lights
High Intensity Discharge (HID)
Unlike halogen bulbs, HID bulbs don’t have a filament. HID bulbs create light by bridging an arc between two electrodes, instead of heating a filament. The arc stimulates the xenon gases producing an intense bright white beam of light. HID lights are 3x’s brighter and use 33% less energy than traditional bulbs.
Light Emitting Diode (LED)
LED lightbulbs are semiconductors that produce light when a current is applied. They have an incredible lifespan (~50,000 hours), and are largely unaffected by vibrations (making them great for off roading).
